Andrea Rapanos, LCSW has been working in social services for over 20 years in the Las Vegas Valley. Originally from New Mexico, Andrea relocated to Nevada in 1994 where she began working for Sierra Health Services, first in home health care and home hospice before moving to hospital case management for Obstetrics and Pediatrics. In 2005, Andrea began working in Pediatric Oncology for a local non-profit where she aided young people and their families in a multitude of comprehensive case management services such as the healing arts, financial support services, insurance troubleshooting, academic support and advocacy, support groups for the critically ill and their caregivers, direct therapeutic support services and programs for children, adults, couples, and families. Utilizing various treatment modalities, Andrea has experience with grief & loss, self-esteem and body image, addictions, ADHD, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, marital conflict, personality disorders, and a host of other mental health ailments that stand in the way of health and well-being.
Andrea has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration with an emphasis on Human Services from the University of Phoenix as well as a Master’s degree in Social Work from UNLV. Andrea has a firm belief in service and volunteers her time for organizations like CASA Las Vegas (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for foster youth, LACSN Education Advocate Program, Central Youth, and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS/CAN). Andrea is a mother to 5 children and 3 dogs. She enjoys traveling with her friends, spending time with her family, sipping coffee, reading, singing, dancing, writing, and watching fantasy films like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and the Lord of the Rings.
