Devon received her Bachelor’s from the University of Nevada, Reno in Criminal Justice with a minor in Addiction Treatment Services. After an internship with the Reno Police Department Victim Service Unit, she found a passion for wanting to help people get through the most challenging moments of their life. She then pursued her Master’s of Social Work at UNLV. She has had previous experiences working with children, families, individuals, and groups in outpatient and residential settings. Devon is EMDR and TF-CBT trained and able to tailor therapy with a trauma focused approach. She uses several aspects of evidenced based modalities such as CBT, motivation interviewing, and solution focused therapy, among others to treat those struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, substance use disorders, adjustment disorders, grief, and low self-esteem. Devon Hillison is also pursuing her drug and alcohol counseling license to offer a specialized approach to those suffering with dual diagnosis of mental health and substance use.
